The Gladstone Ferry service to Curtis Island in Gladstone began transporting workers in February 2011, following the award of two major contracts for passenger and vehicular ferry services in support of the construction of the Liquefied Natural Gas projects.

The six environmentally friendly Transit Systems ferries that call Gladstone Harbour home now have a more permanent sanctuary, with the opening of the new Gladstone Berthing Facility.

Fact 1

The Berthing Facility is made of a concrete floating dock, which enhances the habitat for local marine life by providing a large colonisation surface for marine organisms.

Fact 2

Gladstone's Transit Systems Marine was acquired by SeaLink in November 2015 for $125 million.
