SeaLink Travel Group (ASX: SLK) (SeaLink) today announced the appointment of Ms. Andrea Staines as a Non-Executive Independent Director.
Ms. Staines has extensive experience in the transport sector and is a former CEO of Australian Airlines (a subsidiary of Qantas) which she co-launched in 2002. Ms. Staines currently sits on the Boards of QIC, Goodstart Early Learning, NSW Transport Advisory Board and the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation. She has previously been a Director with Aurizon Holdings, Australian Rail Track Corporation, Gladstone Ports Corporation, North Queensland Airports, Allconnex Water, Early Learning Services and Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
SeaLink Travel Group Chair, Mr. Andrew McEvoy said Ms. Staines experience would be invaluable as the Company sought to expand its tourism and transport offerings. ‘Andrea is highly regarded for her professionalism, transport experience and her extensive knowledge of Queensland where our business operations have grown substantially over the past 12 months with the acquisition of the SeaLink Gladstone and SeaLink South East Queensland businesses.’
Ms. Staines appointment follows a national search for an independent Non-Executive Director to replace Ms. Lucy Hughes Turnbull who announced she was not seeking re-election at the October 2015 AGM.
Ms. Staines appointment is effective from 15th February 2016.
