SeaLink Appoints New Chairman

The Board of Directors of the SeaLink Travel Group (ASX: SLK) today announced the appointment of Mr Andrew McEvoy as its new Non-Executive Chair, effective 01 July 2015. He is currently a Non-Executive Director.

Mr McEvoy succeeds Mr Giuliano Ursini who recently announced his intention to retire on 30 June 2015. He has been Chair of SeaLink Travel Group for 19 years.

Mr McEvoy has extensive experience in the tourism sector, having held senior management positions with both Tourism Australia and the South Australian Tourism Commission. He currently holds the position of Managing Director, Marketing Service at Fairfax Media and is Chair of the South Australia Riverbank Authority.

The Board also announced that Director Ms Lucy Hughes Turnbull AO has been appointed to the position of Deputy Chair, effective 01 July 2015.

Ms Hughes Turnbull has significant public company experience and is currently the Chair of PrimaBiomed and the Committee of Sydney.

Mr Ursini said the Board believed Mr McEvoy’s knowledge and experience in the tourism sector would be invaluable to SeaLink as it pursued the next phase of growth. He characterised these appointments as the ‘next building block’ for the Company.

The Board thanked Mr Ursini for his contribution to SeaLink over the past 19 years as he guided the company in its evolution from a small ferry business in South Australia into a major Australian tourism and transport operator .

In FY14 the company reported revenue of $104.4 million and has 27 vessels, compared with turnover of $11 million and two vessels in 1996-97.
