The service will connect Mandorah on the Cox Peninsula with Darwin.
The 15 minute ferry service will operate up to 14 return services per day and will carry mainly commuters with some tourists. SeaLink was awarded the license due to our success in attracting and building tourism to regional Australia.
The service will commence on the 1st September and will initially utilise the MV Pacific Cat from Townsville. A second vessel is currently being acquired and will relocate to Darwin for the service over the next month.
As a company we see great opportunities to the Territory and will look to further expand our operations in this market. We will initially be employing up to 16 staff in Darwin but we plan to increase this to 20 staff.
