We strive to provide excellent, reliable, efficient, value-for-money service and experiences, with a focus on safety.
- The roots of the SeaLink Travel Group go back to the 1970s when a Kangaroo Island businessman formed the company Philanderer Ferries. In 1989 the ferry operation was purchased by Malaysian company MBF and renamed Kangaroo Island SeaLink. In 1996, a group of South Australian investors and staff members purchased SeaLink from MBF, returning it to local South Australian ownership.
- Since this purchase in 1996, two new state-of-the-art ferries have been specially built for the Kangaroo Island service, making the journey faster, more comfortable, more reliable and safer.
- In peak periods, up to 12 services a day run each way.
- Kangaroo Island SeaLink is also the major freight service provider between the Island and the mainland with freight ranging from livestock and grain to dangerous goods, including fuel and gas.
- Through the years Kangaroo Island SeaLink has continued to excel in customer service, business excellence and marketing activities which has enabled us to compete as an international tourism player.
- In 2004 SeaLink Travel Group stepped into the international market, purchasing the family owned New Zealand ferry company Subritzky Limited, which operates passenger, vehicle and freight ferry services between Auckland and the tourist islands of Waiheke and Great Barrier in the Hauraki Gulf.
- The business was rebranded SeaLink New Zealand and now also provides holiday packages to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands.
- A subsidiary company of SeaLink New Zealand, FreightLink consolidates freight requirements around the Hauraki Gulf and to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands.
- The SeaLink Travel Group currently owns and operates 12 large Coaches (35-53 seats) and 8 midi size vehicles (17-22 seats) which service tours and charters throughout South Australia.
- Our daily coach service connection from Adelaide to Cape Jervis provides an essential route for local commuters along the Fleurieu Peninsula, as well as connects hundreds of people a day to and from our Kangaroo Island ferry service.
- Operating day tours to all corners of Kangaroo Island, our Kangaroo Island Sightseeing operations offer a range of all inclusive day tours which can be packaged from Adelaide with coach and ferry connections and also linked with accommodation options to form multi-day packages.
- Kangaroo Island Sightseeing day tours form an integral part of a whole Kangaroo Island holiday experience, especially for international and interstate markets who may not wish to take the option of a self-drive holiday.
- In 2007 SkyLink Adelaide Airport Shuttle Service joined the SeaLink Travel Group. Operating 16 hours a day, our shuttles drop off and pick up clients directly to / from their accommodation and the Adelaide Airport and the Adelaide Parklands Railway Terminal.
- Welcoming guests to Adelaide every day of the year, SkyLink not only provides a friendly service, but also offers customers with tour suggestions and information about Adelaide and its many attractions.
